RELIGIOUS EDUCATION: RESEARCH ESSAY QUESTION 5: EXAMINE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRAYER FOUND IN CHRISTIANITY. EVALUATE HOW THESE PRAYERS BUILD UP THE COMMUNITY OF THE CHURCH, AND HELP STRENGTHEN A PERSON IN HIS OR HER SPIRITUALITY. Most Christians aren t aware that there are several types of prayer discussed in God s Word, these different types of prayer were created so they could be used in different situations, therefore in some cases a specific prayer type won t work. You would be applying the wrong spiritual tool to your needs or request. God has made each of the six forms of prayer mentioned in the Bible to have different functions/effects on the readers. The six different prayers in the Bible all have different names. They are the following, The Prayer of Agreement, The Prayer of Faith, The Prayer of Consecration and Dedication, The Prayer of Praise and Worship, The Prayer of Intercession and The Prayer of Binding and Loosing. Each of these prayers have a different target audience and description based on what the reader is wanting or needing to hear, they also have a major effect on the community of the Church, some have specific community based effects that are better in other specific situations, just like the prayers are for the readers. Below are three of the total of six prayers which are spoken more in-depth of their meaning and effects they have on church goers and the overall community of the church.
